Falling (Dream Diary #14)
It was dark out and I was driving on the freeway with a friend. The lines defining the road were a little unclear. I approached a right hand turn with a little too much speed, went wide and almost went off the road.
"That was close," I said to her as I approached another turn and we gave each other a knowing glance.
Suddenly, the same thing happened. As I approached the turn the lines in the road became vague and sort of slipped away. We didn't make the turn and were falling through the air off a very large cliff heading straight for the ocean.
We looked at each other again and I said, "I'm sorry."
She looked back with a sad expression on her face that said, "I'm not ready to die."
We continued to fall, our stomachs in our throats. As the water approached, I thought to myself, I should have rolled down the windows during the fall to make it easier to get out once the car was submerged in water.
We finally hit the water and were able to climb out and swim to shore. We made it, but were in a strange place I had never been before. We wandered around looking for answers. Were we alive or were we dead?
