The Power of Water (Dream Diary #13)

We had to stop by the bathrooms. I really had to pee. I approached a row of stalls, some with doors, some without. They were all being used. I had to walk up and down the row to see when someone left as you didn't want to just stand in one place looking into a stall. Finally I came upon an empty one, but the seat was covered with urine. I got some paper towels and wiped it clean, when I came back to the stall after throwing away the paper towels, it was in use again. Frustrated, I turned to start walking the row again when I notice a whole mob of people had shown up. "This is gonna take forever," I thought to myself.

I then noticed a couple stalls that were hidden behind a barrier and quickly entered one. As I sat here relieving myself a person who worked there peaked her head in and set down a cup of coffee with cream. She was young, had blond hair and wore a white work smock. Just as I was thinking about how I still needed to stand in line to get some coffee beans, she peaked her head in again. She said, "The coffee here is awful. I recommend going somewhere else." I appreciated the honesty.

I got back to the car and my dad drove me to the beach where I was to camp for the night. We walked down the path that lead to the shore and rounded the corner where the view opened up and we could see the length of the beach. There were lots of people there, but no tents. I could pitch my tent a little further up in a grassy area, but I wasn't so sure. I also noticed that it had been high tide recently as there wasn't a dry grain of sand, which seemed a little odd to me. "This must not be the right spot," I told him.

We looked up towards the cliff side and saw a fenced in camping area with fire pits and a couple campers setting up tents. It was located about a quarter mile up and looked down over where we were standing. We headed back in that direction.

Inside the small office where you check in, I noticed a flyer selling dog treats. The advertiser was the vet hospital I work at. What a coincidence to see that way out in this location, how far from the practice are we anyway? Just then my boss walked in and was saying hello to someone by the entrance. We exchanged pleasantries. I told her it was my birthday and I was camping by myself for the night. We then proceeded out to get my spot.

I stood there looking over my options, wondering about the two men camping next to a spot I was considering. It made me a little nervous as I was camping alone and wondered what might happen in the night.

Through a partially obstructed view I peered down below at the ocean waves, strong and fierce. They were dark blue and gray and seemed to be fighting with each other. They were bigger than they should be and suddenly they were crashing and flowing further and further up the beach taking people back with them. A large, pink hotel came into view and started to crumble and was washed away as well. A woman came over to me and said, "There haven't been any reports of fatalities, so that is good." I was relieved, but wondered how this could be true when I was watching people being washed away.

We weren't sure if we were far enough away to avoid danger ourselves, so we decided to leave. But before we left, I had to go pee again. As I sat on the toilet and enjoyed the warm rush leave my body, I woke up.

Good thing I didn't pee the bed!
